Man in Poundland
Eastleigh Police today released a photo of a man they would like to speak to after purse was stolen from a shopper.
A purse containing nearly £100 and bus passes belonging to a woman with learning difficulties was taken from her handbag while
she was shopping in the town’s poundland just before midday last Friday (January 25.)
The man is described as eastern European with olive-coloured skin.  He is aged between 30 and 35, about 5ft 8-9ins tall and has greasy black hair and stubble.
Store staff attempted to stop the man and pursued him as he ran down Leigh Road towards Eastleigh train station and then turned right into Southampton Road before disappearing.
PC Robert Thomas is appealing for information from anyone who recognises the suspect.
“There have been a number of purse thefts over the last couple of years in Eastleigh, and the Safer Neighbourhoods Team is keen to catch those responsible,” he said.
He also advised residents to obtain a free anti-purse theft lanyard from Eastleigh police station.
Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to contact PC Thomas at Eastleigh on 101.
