Red Dog Saloon officially celebrated the opening of its first South Coast location with an exclusive VIP event which took place last night (Wednesday 18th January). It was a special evening that even saw ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star James ‘Arg’ Argent attend and dine. From the word go, guests were treated with a special VIP experience from friendly staff who offered a complimentary glass of Prosecco as well as three drink vouchers. These included a free pale ale, a special Red Dog Saloon Margarita as well as a ‘Gin-Fizer’ Cocktail.

The cocktails themselves were carefully made in a classy manner from the friendly bar staff who you could tell were enjoying themselves also. The evening kicked off with DJ, Sean Brosnan, who was playing some authentic western songs as well as more up to date ones to get the party started. Later in the evening, local band, Junco Shakers, delighted the crowd with two sets of authentic blues music which was a particular highlight of the night that created a great mood from being in saloon from the wild west, but without the shooting and brothels.

Prior to the event, followers of Red Dog Saloon were also given the opportunity to attend the event by engaging with them on Facebook and Twitter.  Sample burgers, chicken wings, and mouth watering ribs were all tested out on the night with the cheese burger being a real hit for myself. Near the end of the night, a special Oreo cheesecake was distributed among the crowd that was a real hit with everyone.

Commenting on the evening, owner Tom Brooke said: ‘We are delighted by the success of the Southampton restaurant so far and really enjoyed showcasing the new venue at our launch event.

‘It was a great opportunity to meet representatives from the local sports teams and businesses in the area, and give them a taste of the truly authentic American experience we are known for.

‘We’re proud to have been fully booked for lunch and dinner since we opened over Christmas, so if you’re thinking of coming down, we recommend that you get your booking in now!’

Other guests on the night included Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox from Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins as well as Hampshire Cricket stars, Reece Topley and Gareth Berg. The evening also saw representatives from local American Football teams, Solent Thrashers and Southampton Stags; the Southampton Vixens Cheerleading Squad; Trojans Rugby; Southampton City Water Polo Club and Southampton Mustangs Baseball Team.

Overall it was a great night of food, entertainment and cocktails and was made even more memorable for myself as I got to invite a really special person with me to enjoy it all.
