South's biggest 10k sold out with tree weeks to go

This years Hendy Eastleigh 10k – the largest 10K in the south of England-  has sold out ahead of its closing date for the 33rd anniversary race.    Over 2750 runners from across the country will descend on Eastleigh for the popular and nationally recognised event that will take place on Sunday 19 March 2017.

As well as local runners, the event attracts runners from across the UK, including an 18 strong team from Guernsey together with runners from London, the South West, Midlands and beyond.  They all take advantage of the fast, flat course which is ideal for top athletes and fun runners alike and is known as the home of the PB (personal best time).

The race will again raise thousands for charities through the efforts of the runners and this year the race is supporting Wessex Heartbeat, The Mayor of Eastleigh’s Appeal and Wave 105 Cash for Kids appeal.

Race organiser Steve Collins said “It’s simply amazing support from runners for this great running event. Hendy’s support has been fantastic and I know all the runners really appreciated their support for the event and im sure they’ll look forward to earning their medal. .  Running has had a huge increase in popularity with the advent of Parkruns and more local running clubs so it should be a grerat event.”

The event is also supported by Wave 105 FM and the race raises sponsorship for their popular Cash 4 Kids appeal.   The vent is also supporting the Mayor of Eastleigh’s appeal and Water Aid.

The event also includes a 2k fun run, that is also sold out, for children aged 4-12 years who can also join the fun and earn their own ‘gold’ medal.
