Marwell Zoo: A great day out for all

November 20, 2017

Marwell Zoo is a fantastic day out for all and the attraction just keeps getting more and more popular. I managed to get some review tickets for the zoo near Winchester and I have to admit I was very impressed. With it being a Sunday also, the day saw plenty of families eager to catch a glimpse of some of the most interesting animals around. As Christmas is fast approaching, the attraction put on a special experience for kids at the manor if you managed to pre book. There was free transport running throughout park over the day and it made a special stop for the Christmas at Marwell event. Marwell advises to bring children along therefore I didn’t get a chance to check the event out even though the inner kid inside me wanted to see Santa. The lighting on the outside was amazing however and it really gave you that impression of a Santa Grotto with an Elf waiting to greet families. So after a brief stop, we managed to check out some of the magnificent wildlife on offer. The highlight of the day was the snow leopard which despite the park nearly closing, it attracted plenty of people gathering around to see this incredible animal. With staff in full spirit and greeting everyone with a smile, it really added to a great day out. The giraffes were also amazing and we managed to catch a demonstration where a child got to go right up close, a moment I’m sure he’ll never forget. Another great display was the penguins who certainly aren’t shy too and one looked like it was greeting a family. These animals are looked after brilliantly well and Marwell should be very proud what they have achieved here. The prices are very reasonable also and it has become an affordable day out for families and gives opportunities to families to enjoy themselves. If I could advise anything to anyone who wishes to come here I would say make way for a good four or five hours yo really appreciate what’s on offer. Overall the day was great and I would suggest to anyone who hasn’t been before to give it a try, its worth your while.
