Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr Mo Sollitt with members of Age Concern

Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr Mo Sollitt joined around thirty representatives from Age Concern Eastleigh at the M&S Eastleigh Café for a morning of tea, coffee and festive treats including mince pies.
The Age Concern Eastleigh choir was also on hand to delight customers with a selection of Christmas songs to get everyone in the festive spirit.

The Mayor said,

‘It’s great to see M&S supporting the community and I was delighted to enjoy a coffee at M&S Eastleigh Café to support Age Concern and meet so many of their fantastic members and volunteers.’

Sandra Ronan, volunteer member of Age Concern Eastleigh, said:

‘Our singers did a great job, really lifting everyone’s spirits and getting them in a festive mood. It’s wonderful that the Eastleigh M&S team has chosen us as its charity partner and we’ve had a lovely morning.’

Store Manager, Dylan Chandler, commented:

‘This morning was a great opportunity for us to meet many of the Age Concern members we will be supporting over the next year. As a store it is important to us to give something back to local the community, which has welcomed us so warmly during the last three months since we opened.
Our fundraising is underway. We have introduced collection tins at the tills for customer donations and the team was out and about with local residents at the Eastleigh Christmas Market, running a raffle for a hamper of M&S goodies. We have lots of exciting activity planned for the coming months and expect the community will continue to be really supportive.’

All guests were presented with raffle tickets on arrival to win a festive selection of goodies to take home.
