It’s a family affair this Mother’s Day for Eastleigh store

March 8, 2018

Sean Butcher with his grandmother Sue, Asda, Eastleigh, Hampshire.

It’s double trouble at Asda Eastleigh as two members of the same family are celebrating Mother’s Day differently this year, by working side-by-side in the same store.
Sue Butcher, 62, who has worked at the store for over 11 years, has been working alongside her grandson, Shaun, just over a year. Shaun, 17, has been working under the supervision of his grandma for a year, as a vital member on the chilled department.

Sue, said:

‘I feel such a sense of pride working alongside my grandson at the Eastleigh store. We spend a lot of time together, so I ensure he is completing the job to the best of his abilities and I also like to share my experience with Shaun.

Shaun Butcher, said:

‘I love working alongside my nan at the store. This is my first job since finishing school, so I was quite nervous, but it’s been great that she is here and always on hand to help me and guide me.’
