Eastleigh make it back to back home wins

Mark Yeates scored the game’s only goal

Eastleigh’s Mark Yeates helped Eastleigh defeat Boreham Wood 1-0 at The Silverlake Stadium following another late 1-0 win at home to Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday..

Both sides sparred in the first half without committing too many men forward, leading to a first-half stalemate.

When the match started to open up in the final quarter, Boreham stopper and former Spitfire loanee Ryan Huddart was swift into action with a save to deny Yeates.

The ex-Tottenham midfielder was also instrumental in a later chance for Andy Hessenthaler’s men, his cross finding Chris Zebroski to nod against the post.

Eastleigh’s pressing was rewarded 10 minutes from time when Yeates, a class apart on the night, cut inside and curled low past Huddart to win it.
