Ben Williamson scored Eastleigh’s only goal

Eastleigh were denied all three points at home to Salford City on Saturday as they recorded back to back home draws in the Vanarama National League.

Lois Maynard’s last-minute equaliser helped Salford salvage a late draw at Eastleigh and extend their unbeaten league run to 16.

Josh Hare went close early on for the Spitfires, but saw his drive well saved by Chris Neal, while Salford also had chances in a frantic opening.

Andrew Boyce’s header back into the box found Alex Wynter, but the Spitfires defender shot over.

Early in the second half, Mark Yeates made an inspired run into the Salford box, and when his shot was saved by Neal, Ben Williamson tapped in to give Eastleigh the lead. Eastleigh remained in charge, but promotion hopefuls Salford showed their tenacity when Maynard rifled in from distance late on.
