Hedge End OAP hit by bus dies

An 88-year old man has died in Hospital after he was hit by a bus in Hedge End.

The man was crossing Upper Northam Road at about 6pm on Friday evening (November 16) when he was struck by a Xelabus single decker. Following the incident, the road was closed for three hours while emergency services attended.

The man was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with a serious head injury but unfortunately, died earlier today.

Gareth Blair, Managing Director of Xelabus told a regional newspaper:

 “We as a company are deeply upset by this incident. Our thoughts are very much with the gentleman and his family

Our driver is very shaken up by this and we will be offering him our full support as a company.”
