Council ‘Snoopers’ set to call

Who lives in a house like this?

Eastleigh households are to be subject to a housing survey the council has announced on its website. 1500 addresses within the borough will be selected at random and visited by surveyors who will appraise the property and report on its condition and value to the council.
The council say that they are legally obliged to carry out a survey into housing conditions once every 5 years and that the information compiled will be treated in confidence and used to gain government funding for housing and social projects.
However during the 30 minute visit, it is understood surveyors will also be asking residents to participate in a ‘social survey’.
Households who have been selected will be first contacted with a letter from the Council’s contractor CPC ltd, who will carry ID with them when visiting properties.
Participation is not compulsory.
