Motorists in Hamble are being warned to ensure their vehicles are locked and secured and all property is removed from inside whenever it is left unattended.
The warning comes after several vehicles were broken into in the Satchell Lane area overnight between Tuesday, February 9 and Wednesday, February 10.
In all cases property such as satellite navigation kits, sunglasses and stereo equipment were stolen from inside the vehicles.
The thefts were from vehicles parked in Satchell Lane, Kingfisher Close, The Close, Oakwood Way, and Cerdic Mews.
A week ago the Police marine unit had to liaise with the Hamble Harbour Master to trace a stolen inflatable ‘rib’ craft that been taken from Botley Mills and was later found abandoned at Warash.
Meanwhile, anyone with information relating to the thefts from vehicles is asked to contact PC Julie Swainston at Eastleigh police station on 101, or call Crimestoppers, the charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
