Chris Huhne is a long term strategist. In hunting a speech writer at this time he is telling us that he cares about how he comes across, both now and more importantly in the future. So who does he feel he needs to persuade? Why! The LibDem voters of course (and NOT just those in Eastleigh)! I have always Huhne would have made a far more convincing LibDem leader than Nick Clegg. He has a great deal of skill in presenting himself as a heavyweight whereas Clegg comes across as rather lightweight in comparison. A lot of this is to do with vocal delivery but also age. Therefore I predict (if I dare predict anything ever again) that Chris Huhne will be the next LibDem leader within a year(ish). Peter Stewart
