Kiln Lane bridge closure

Brambridge Park Bridge Kiln Lane

Hampshire County Council intends to carry out brickwork repairs to Brambridge Park bridge that crosses the River.Itchen on Kiln Lane, close to the Brambridge Park Garden Centre.

Work is planned to start on Monday 4th October 2010. A road closure at the bridge site will be in force for the work that will be done during out-of-peak hours (9:30am to 4:00pm). This will necessitate Kiln Lane being closed for a day on Monday 4th October and again on the following Monday. The repair works are expected to take a week, temporary traffic lights/ Stop/Go boards, will be used to regulate the traffic.

Advance Notice Signs will be placed near the bridge, and notices in the press to advise the public of the diversion routes. During the Works there will be a diversion via Allbrook in the south. Signs will be erected to indicate access to the Garden Centre via Highbridge road.

As long as it will not stop me getting to the little railway on Sunday’s then they have my OK to carry on.

I think however what really is going on is that the Borough Council will be building a Toll Booth to collect a tax of £5.00 per car for crossing the river at this point.!!

    You heard it here first..
