Mayors Appeal totals £29k

Local charities have benefitted from donations totalling over £29,000 as a result of the Mayor of Eastleigh’s Charity Appeal for 2009/10.

The former Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Pamela Holden-Brown chose three charities that would benefit from the considerable efforts of the Appeal Committee who staged dozens of fund raising events.

The three charities were HomeStart, Eastleigh – who provide support to families with children aged under 5 who are in difficulty; The Rainbow Centre – a special place for children with disabilities; The BIG Art Project – which seeks to inspire and motivate by providing opportunities for young people and artists who are deaf, disabled and able to work together to access, appreciate and participate in the arts.

Councillor Pamela Holden-Brown said:

“I am absolutely thrilled to be able to donate over £29,000 between these three very deserving charities and I know this money will make a significant contribution to their work. I would like to express my sincere thanks to my appeal committee for all their hard work together with all those individuals, groups and organisations that contributed to the appeal.”

Well done to all concerned, we are in hard times but lets hope this years appeal will be every bit as successful!

And the new undemocraticly decided mayor will be..

    Mr Wayne “No Morals” Irish.

Well if he can raise more than a fiver for any cause other than his beloved ‘The Point’, I will double it from my own pocket.!!
