A new fitness studio that uses revolutionary ‘space age’ exercise machines has opened in Shedfield – and Eastleigh News readers can have a go for free!
The Gironna Health and Fitness Studio in Sandy Lane is running small ‘power plate’ classes using vibrating plate machines to stimulate muscle groups.
The technology was originally developed for use by Russian Cosmonauts to combat loss of muscle tone during weightlessness and these latest machines are endorsed by a host of celebrities from Clint Eastwood and Johnathan Ross to local TV personality Phillipa Forrester.
Says studio director and trainer Georgia Emm:
“We opened at the end of August and work with clients from all walks of life from those who are limited in their ability to work out in a gym to those that are looking for more sports specific training.”
It’s claimed the efficiency of normal exercises like squats and lunges are greatly improved when performed on the machine and that just three 30 minute sessions a week will improve muscle tone, aid weight loss, combat cellulite and increase bone density.
Sessions are held daily from Monday to Saturday and start form £12 per person.
For more information, Georgia can be contacted on 01329 834682 – she is also offering Eastleigh News readers a free 15 minute taster session on the plates if they quote “Feel the Buzz ” when ringing the studios!
