Comet have re-opened the doors of their Woodside Road store his morning following a £250,000 makeover.
The Mayor of Eastleigh John Caldwell, assisted by his wife Jennifer, was on hand to cut the ribbon and to mark the start of a weekend of family fun activities.
There will be a Cancer Research charity fund raiser with £500 of gift vouchers up for grabs, at just 50p per ticket. There will also be a fire engine from Eastleigh fire station, face painting, colouring competitions and balloons.
Furthermore to celebrate the re-opening, the new look electrical superstore – which stocks everything from the latest 3D televisions tonetbooks, kettles and iPods – are offering customers 10% off all products over the weekend.
First customer through the door was David Pemberton who lives near Winchester and was shopping for a new TV. A regular customer, he said he enjoys the personal service and advice he receives. He described the look of the new store as ‘excellent’ and seemed delighted to discover his TV was going to be 10% cheaper!

“The team here are really looking forward to welcoming the residents of Eastleigh and surrounding areas into our fantastic new store and we’re certain that they’ll be as excited by the updated format as we are. The new team has had intensive product training and will be on hand to offer ideas and guidance when choosing between different products. Tonight the Mayor on his wife will helping Santa to turn on the town’s Christmas lights at Leigh Road recreation bandstand at 6pm which will be followed by a firework display.
