The Spitfires travelled to St Albans City with new recruit Justin Bennett who signed on loan for Eastleigh until the end of the season from Gosport Borough.
Two time leading Southern League Division South and West leading goal scorer Justin Bennett was due to play for Eastleigh at the start 2006/2007 but he got injured and never started the season with The Spitfires.
Tuesday’s game only saw one goal – Richard Graham the scorer on the 40th minute.
The former Northern Ireland under 21 international had an easy tap to score his eighth goal of his season to lead the Spitfires into sixth place, level on points with Welling United who sit in fifth.
The only bad news was Gareth Barfoot getting injured with a groin strain and Luke Byle’s hamstring forcing them both to get subbed off before the second half.
This meant Justin Bennett didn’t get his debut for Eastleigh.
The Spitfires are now only eight points away from the top spot and there’s still a possible FA Trophy finish in May at Wembley on the cards.
The Spitfire’s next game is away to Thurrock on Saturday 29th January to try and make it seven in a row in the league!
