Eastleigh face key Trophy clash

Ian Baird’s Spitfires face Chasetown tomorrow in the FA Trophy third round.

The winner of the match will receive £7,000 in prize money and a place in the Quarter Final draw Monday February 8. Both clubs come into this game having been beaten on their last outing.

Eastleigh has not lost at home since November 13 against Staines Town when the Spitfires lost 1-4.

Chasetown on the other hand lost last Wednesday against a team a league below them 0-2 but the Spitfires know Chasetown will be no push over having defeated both Kettering and Grimsby Town who are both in the Blue Square Bet Premier, one league above Eastleigh.

This will be Eastleigh’s first ever time in the FA Trophy’s last 16 and could be classed as the club’s biggest cup match of all time.

Chasetown were the lowest ranked team in the FA Cup to get to the 3rd round in the season 2007-2008 and got beaten by Cardiff City 3-1.

Kick Off: 3.00 pm at The Silverlake Stadium.
