The first Eastleigh Sports Awards took place Tuesday 8 February tocelebrate achievements made during the sporting year of 2010.
Organised by Eastleigh Sport and Physical Activity Alliance, the event proved a huge success with over 150 people attending at the Rose Bowl venue.
The evening celebrated individual excellence, team achievement as well as recognising those people who work tirelessly ‘behind the scenes’ to support the great sports stars and offer opportunities to take part in an active lifestyle across the Borough of Eastleigh.
This event was key in Eastleigh’s journey towards the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Decisions were based on ability and experience as well as the positive impact the individuals and teams have within their own sport.
The evening also took the opportunity to congratulate Eastleigh Multi Sports Club on successfully gaining their Club Mark accreditation. The club are the first disability multi sports club in Hampshire to achieve the accreditation due the hard work of the committee, in particular Susan Perrin and Sally Eshranghi
