Criminals are keeping Eastleigh detectives busy this week. Following burglaries on Monday and Wednesday, police are now also appealing for information after two men entered a house in Winchester Road, Fair Oak and stole items from the homeowners.

The incident took place at around 9.30pm last night, Thursday, March 31.

An occupant of the house pulled up onto the drive and saw four men outside the house, concerned for his safety; he reversed out of the drive onto Winchester Road. One of the group signalled for him to get out of the vehicle but he drove off.

Two men gained entry to the address. When confronted by four family members inside the house the men left the property via a set of rear patio doors. It is believed they used a side gate to get back to the front of the house.

The occupants of the property were not injured during the incident.

The first man in the house is described as:

  • White
  • 6ft 2ins
  • Early 20s
  • Athletic build
  • Slightly stubbly face
  • Flat nose
  • Wearing a dark scarf covering his face, a dark hat or hood, dark coat and dark jeans

The second man is described as:

  • White
  • 5ft 8ins
  • Early 20s
  • Stocky build
  • Round face
  • Very dark hair and eyebrows
  • Wearing a hat or hood, something covering his neck, dark jacket, and dark jeans or jogging bottoms

DS Jamie Wiseman of Eastleigh CID said:

“This is being treated as an isolated incident; it is believed that this address was targeted specifically. We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the men before or after the incident, or has any information.”

Anyone with information should contact DS Wiseman in CID at Eastleigh police station on 101, or call Crimestoppers, the charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
