Hedge Ends Co-op store on Lower Northam Road has been hit by thieves over the holiday weekend.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after the store was burgled  in the early hours of Saturday, May 28.

The incident happened at the store on Lower Northam Road sometime between 1.30am and 2am.

Around £9000 worth of cigarettes were removed from the store.

It is believed entry was gained to the premises through smashing a front window.

Police are keen to identify four men who were seen in the locality around the time of the incident. All of them were wearing dark clothing.

PC Andrew Dolan, of Eastleigh police station, said:

“Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in this area, late on Friday through to the early hours of Saturday, to contact us. If you have any information which could help police with their enquiries then please come forward.”

    Seems they got raided again last night. My wife just returned from trying to shop there and broken glass again and sign up saying closed until further notice. Budgens are doing a roaring trade!
    Hope they catch the culprits.
