Ian Baird’s Spitfires ended the season with some class against Bromley in the Blue Square Bet South at Hayes Lane.

Peter Adeniyi scored a 35 yard screamer on 40 minutes followed by a 40 yard lob from Anthony Riviere in 43rd minute much to the travelling Eastleigh fans delight.

Ian Baird then let Liam Hibberd to make his second appearance in the league for Eastleigh, the reserve captain had another solid performance for The Spitfires following his début in the league on Monday against Hampton and Richmond Borough and he looks promising for the future.

Eastleigh finished in 8th place in the Blue Square Bet South this season, four points behind 5th placed Woking who won the last play-off spot.

Looking to next season,Eastleigh director of football Dave Malone announced some exciting news for Spitfire fans.

“Subject to full board approval, we can confirm that Eastleigh Football Club are in the process of recruiting full time players for the coming season.

We are currently formualting exact plans, whihc we hop eto finalise and confirm in the very near future.

Exciting times ahead!”

Lets hope next season will see more success for Eastleigh.

    A great season for Eastleigh and fantastic coverage from Kieran, Jamie and Graeme.
