Velmore Co-op in container break in

co op

Thieves broke into a container full of stock to the rear of the premises

Thieves raided a container in Velmore on Tuesday night and made off with a haul including chocolate sweets and disposable nappies.

A container sited on Kent at the rear of the Falkland Court branch of the Co-op had its door prised open with a long metal pole – the container was being used by the Co-op for storage and had recently had a delivery.

PC Alex Fortune said:

“This is a rare occurrence for the area and late at night.

A lot of noise would have been made so people may have looked out of their window or heard it having been woken up.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Fortune at Eastleigh Police Station on 0800 555 111.

An empty container has been found at that rear of Velmore Co-Op. Eastleigh Police are currently looking into it…

Seriously though, what a daft place to store overflow stock. Might not have been so bad in a secure compound, but the Co-Op were asking for trouble here. Containers aren’t that secure. Chains and padlocks can easily be broken by anybody determined to gain entry and I bet there wasn’t an alarm fitted…

If they had crane they could have loaded it onto a flatbed and driven away with the lot!

If the Council had followed our Labour party plan for the extension to the Co-op and the Doctors surgery which was supported by the Residents association and the Velmore survey
this problem probably wouldnt have happened.

What we have in Eastleigh is some serious second rate plans by the Lib dem councillors
who negotiate and vote for the poorest schemes
and have proven to be a detriment to the future for our residents.

The Lib dems have voted for an extension to the Velmore chapel costing over 600k when it was obvious that the Doctors surgery which they frustrated should have been built with the 600k.

atleast the Labour Parish councillor Peter Luffman and the tory run parish council agree
with the Labour plan and are trying to deal
with the situation they have inherited.

Pavillion in the park, the lost Golf course,
the development on Woodside road losing the Girl Guide and Southampton and Eastleigh Motorcycle club are just a few of the bad decisions made by the Lib dems.

The loss of the Mount hospital and the day services are a major blow and the site is now
subject to vandalism and theft, young thugs are practicing breaking and entering at the Mount a recent report highlighted.

I am amazed at the ruling party who say one thing in their leaflets and deny as the ruling party they make the decisions, They have not done very well for the residents of Velmore over the planning application for the Co-op extension which I voted in favour for
and No doctors Surgery added to the loss of day care facilities at the Mount I can just imagine the Lib dem lealfets if they were not
    the ruling party.

The Loss of the Shops at Longmead Avenue and the Post office had a knock on effect losing the Pub has made the area worse for the residents.

It will be interesting to see how the Sunlight
Centres exposure of the Libs election spend
and the interest free loans to aid the elections and Chris Huhnes office utility Bills
goes down with the electorate at next years elections.

Thats the point the people that negotiate for us should do their best but by example if you loan money to your party for and election it must be repaid by the cut off date, if you dont get your interest free loan money back
because you never know if your candidate is going to get elected then you are not a good negotiator and should not be dealing with the publics money.
