A new pre-school for the Velmore estate in Chandlers Ford is being launched tomorrow.
The ‘Little Stars’ pre- school will be holding a fund raising summer fete and barbecue from 3 pm on Saturday July 2 at the Belmont Hall on the corner of Falkland Road and Belmont road.
Little Stars manager Chrystal Perry, who used to attend a pre-school in Velmore herself, explained that there hasn’t been one on the estate for over 20 years.
“I have done some research – the numbers of pre-schoolers locally – and the new housing being built – means there is definitely a huge demand for pre-school places within easy walking distance.
This is a facility that has been missing from the community for some time”
Chrystal says she has seventeen years of experience working with children including experience gained in schools as a learning support assistant.
She has already started reserving places for the sessions that are due to start in September.
Limited spaces are available for the Ofsted registered school and some funded sessions are also on offer.
Attractions at the Saturdays Fete include a bouncy castle, candy floss stall and a raffle with prizes donated form many local businesses including Pets at Home, Tesco and Shake-away.
There are free tickets up for grabs to all sorts of family activities including the Lakeside railway, AMF bowling and Finkley Down Farm.
