Police seize mobile phone in Huhne case

Police have seized a mobile phone belonging to Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne’s son the Mail on Sunday will claim in their edition due to printed this Sunday.

The newspaper will say that the phone was confiscated at the home of Mr Huhne’s estranged wife Vicky Pryce by police investigating allegations that the cabinet minister persuaded his former wife to take penalty points on his behalf in 2003.

The paper describes the visit by police as ‘a raid’ claiming that the mobile phone contains texts between Mr Huhne and his son that could throw light on their investigation.

Mr Huhne, who clebrates his 57th birthday today, has strenuously denied any wrongdoing.
