Top tory praises Huhne

Lord Deben

Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne has received praise for his performance as energy secretary from an unexpected source.

Conservative grandee and Thatcherite John Gummer has described Mr Huhne’s performance as Energy Secretary as “the success of this government”.

In an article published in the Yorkshire Post today former environment secretary John Gummer , now Lord Deben said:

“I think Chris Huhne is in many ways the huge unexpected success of this Government,”

“He is an extraordinarily good Minister. Government has brought the best out of him

As a former environment minister Lord Deben is used to controversy himself, having introduced the landfill Tax and for encouraging his daughter to eat a beefburger in front of TV cameras at the height of the BSE scare.

However his Lordship’s ringing endorsement is likely to dismay local Tories, many of whom are critical of Mr Huhne’s green policies and fear that his cabinet status means the party will not stand a candidate against him in the 2015 general election.

Meanwhile Mr Huhne who was cleared of election overspending last week, shrugged off recent  allegations regarding speeding offences to take time to support the Blue Cross pet adoption centre in Bubb Lane, West End.which has been re-homing pets from the Eastleigh area for over 100 years.

On his website www.chrishuhne.org.uk Mr Huhne urged people to live up to their responsibilities by not abandoning their loved ones.

“There is an appalling wave of abandoned dogs locally because owners do not think about how to look after their animals, the time needed to exercise them, and the cost of feeding them. It saddens me to see devoted and loyal pets treated like fashion accessories to be thrown away when their owners are bored”

If it wasn’t for the energy companies imposing yet another 20% price hike on the nations long-suffering consumers, I’d be inclined to agree with Lord Deben…

lets not forget the cuts to staff at the Environment agency at Colden Common Chris Huhne
got rid of from his own department and moved to West Sussex.

during his time as a minister he has made local people redundant at the Health protection agency and DEFRA.

I asked Chris Huhne how can you claim to be the greenest Government when making so many of your front line staff redundant, these people are the eyes and ears of the department and less prosecutions will surley follow,

Thats why the torys are happy with them says one thing does something else same as the greedy fuel companies being untouched by his
laise faire policy, yep that really makes the Torys happy

Seems Chris thinks more of pets than he did his wife.
