Ian Baird’s Spitfires finally lost at home in the league last Saturday against Hampshire rivals Farnborough when they came up short to a 0-1 defeat at The Silverlake Stadium.
Eastleigh played five at the back giving Michael Green a return at left back however winger Damien Scannell was left out of the starting line up and new signing Lee Phillips replaced striker Jamie Slabber.
With both teams in very good form, it took 57 minutes for The Yellows to break the deadlock, right back Mitchell Nelson made a challenge on striker Michael Charles and referee Barry Holderness awarded a penalty.
Striker Phillip Page converted the penalty putting the visitors in front, substitutes Damien Scannell and Jamie Slabber made way for Michael Green and Lee Phillips however Farnborough’s defence was too good and The Spitfires were defeated at home in the league after twelve games.
Eastleigh take on relegation threatened Bromley away at The Courage Stadium on Saturday in The Blue Square Bet South.
Bromley’s last game was at home to fellow struggler’s Staines Town on Tuesday, The match was postponed until 8.40 PM due to the Staines players and fans was held up by a accident on the M25.
Michael Malcolm put The Lillywhites in front before Ali Chaaban equalised for The Swans in the last dying minutes following a sending off from Moses Swaibu.
The last time these two teams met was earlier in the season when The Spitfires had a nightmare at The Silverlake Satdium.
The first half saw no goals and it took 51 minutes before the deadlock was broken, Bromley won a penalty after a shirt pulling and striker Hakeem Araba converted the penalty sending the visitors in front.
After sloppy play at the back, Eastleigh soon went two behind when Danny Waldren took advantage of a poor defensive clearance and the midfielder tucked away The Lillywhites second goal after a poor day for The Spitfires.
The last time these two teams played at The Courage Stadium, The Spitfires ended the season with some class.
Peter Adeniyi scored a 35 yard screamer on 40 minutes followed by a 40 yard lob from Anthony Riviere in 43rd minute much to the travelling Eastleigh fans delight.
This is going to be a great game to watch so travel down to The Courage Stadium and roar on those Spitfires!
