Visitors to Eastleigh’s Fleming park are being greeted by large posters urging them to support local dance stars – Britain’s got Talent finalists Kai Widdrington and Natalia Jeved
The popular pair will be facing up to the biggest challenge of their careers tonight when they battle it out on live TV to win a place on the Royal Variety Show bill and £500,000 in cash – £250,000 of it coming directly from Show judge and impresario Simon Cowell.
Kai(16) and Natalia (15) have strong local connections – they both train in Hedge End and Kai attends Barton Peveril College.
Local PR and communications company MCC International – who are based at Chilworth – are not only handling the couple’s media enquiries but they are also spearheading the campaign to get people voting for them by organising the giant posters and flyers which are being displayed at public venues including Fleming Park Sports Centre.
Despite their strong local support, the dancers are very much the underdogs with the bookies who have instead installed ‘popera’ singing duo Jonathon and Charlotte as odds on favourites.
Online betting exchange Betfair are currently offering s much as 400/1 on Kai and Natalia which means local supporters could be ‘quid’s in’ if the Latin dancers create an upset.
Favourites have not always won the show, and the two teenagers who have been in competitive dancing from an early age, should be able to handle the pressure better than many of their fellow competitors.
Bookies and punters also seem to have discounted the popularity of Ball room dancing and TV shows like ‘Strictly Come Dancing’
Kai and Natalia have spoken of what winning would mean to them and promised something special for tonight’s performance:
“Winning would change our lives in a way we could never dream and give us opportunities we could never of had before.
” We have planned something very upbeat for the finals and hope to show the audience something they haven’t ever seen before on Britain’s Got Talent.”
Good luck guys!
