Police seek Bishopstoke Hit and Run driver

Police working to trace a car involved in a hit-and-run are appealing for witnesses after a 20 year-old was left lying in the road with serious injuries.

The incident happened at about 10pm on Thursday, May 3 in Bishopstoke Lane between Bishopstoke and Colden Common.

The victim, a 20-year-old man from Colden Common was struck by a dark-coloured vehicle, possibly a black 4×4 about 90 metres north of the Ideal Park Homes caravan park, as it travelled from the direction of Bishopstoke.

Despite the severity of the impact, the driver failed to stop to check the injured man, who had sustained serious but not life threatening injuries in the collision.

Police are now appealing to anybody who saw a vehicle matching the description near to the rural location, or who are aware of recent collision damage and possible repair work being carried out on similar vehicles.
