A West End couple awoke to discover intruders in their house yesterday night.
Burglars had scaled a 6ft fence and forced a rear door to gain entry to a house in Upmill Close at around 1 am Wednesday morning October 10.
By the time the householders, a 35-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, got up and turned the hall lights on, the burglars had fled and some small electrical items, cash and a wallet had been taken.
The thieves has also tried to get into an integral garage. Some property was recovered nearby including some not belonging to the victims which was later found to have been stolen from a white transit van which had been parked in the same road.
A Sat Nav is still missing from the van and a red ‘Dell’ Laptop, a Casio camera and the wallet are still missing from the house break-in.
