Eastleigh at home to Bath City tonight

Denied: Craig McAllister’s goal was disallowed for a push

Eastleigh manager Richard Hill would like to get back to winning ways after his side slumped to a 0-1 defeat away to Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.

In a game that both sides didn’t have many chances on goal, The Spitfires looked to have had scored in the first half however striker Craig McAllister appeared to have pushed his opponent while heading into the back of the net.

The Spitfires came out in the second half more lively however they somehow went behind, a long throw in eventually found striker David Knight who headed into the path of former Spitfire loanee Frankie Raymond who volleyed the ball from close range to snatch the advantage.

The result puts Eastleigh into 14th in league, level on (17) points with Bath City who they now play at The Silverlake Stadium tonight (7.45pm kick off).

City last played at home to AFC Hornchurch on Saturday where they ran out 3-1 winners, Midfielder Chris Allen took the advantage after twenty minutes however Wayne Gray equalised within seconds for the visitors.

Joe Burnell gave Bath a half time advantage and Sean Canham on loan from Hereford United secured all three points with minutes to go on the clock.

The last time these two teams met at The Silverlake stadium was nearly four years ago and The Spitfires came out 2-0 winners on that occasion.

Tom Jordan opened the scoring just after the hour mark Aaron Martin (now at Southampton and on loan to Crystal Palace) made sure of the three points moments later.

In other news The Spitfires have been drawn at home to Hayes & Yeading in the FA Trophy 3rd qualifying round which will take place on the 10th November.

Eastleigh have also been drawn away to Fleet Spurs in the Hampshire Senior Cup third round which will take place on the 4th December.

The date for the rearranged fixture with Truro City has been announced on the official website.

Following the postponement of the recent league fixture against Truro City at the Silverlake, we can confirm the match has been rearranged for Tuesday 20th November 2012 at 7.45pm.

In accordance with Conference league rule 8.6 this new date had to be within 42 days of the original date.”

Tonight’s game is going to be a great game so come on down to The Silverlake Stadium and roar on those Spitfires!
