Eastleigh’s naked rambler heading home once again

Stephen Gough - the Naked Rambler

Stephen Gough – the Naked Rambler

Eastleigh’s own ‘Naked Rambler’ aka Stephen Gough has been released from prison in Scotland earlier today where he has finished serving the latest in a string of sentences totaling six years for refusing to wear any clothing while hiking around the country.

Gough left Saughton Prison in Edinburgh the same way he went in – stark naked except for socks and hiking boots.

He had been arrested and imprisoned in July within days of a previous prison release after he walked past a children’s playground prompting a complaint from an outraged member of the public.

Come on home Stephen! We need you here to help organise and lead a naked protest ramble over Stoneham Park!
The council want to build over the last bit of green belt between us and Southampton
Looking forward to getting my kit off along with Aviary residents and opposition parties for a mass stroll in the buff.
Hey! Maybe we can march on the Council Offices!

At first I thought this was a fantastic idea but then the thought of Pete and UKIP walking around naked has made me think otherwise. Now if it was the Tory PPC, well that’s a different matter.

Maybe we could do it in the spring. We could call it “naked march”. What a dare! Adrenalin junkies of the world unite!

p.s. Matt, I’m comforted that you find the thought of my magnficent Olympian physique no great delight to your senses, so hey, no offence intended, but the feeling’s mutual (you rugged, macho bear you)!!!

p.p.s. Well done Steve Gough! Lay you odds he is back inside before the year’s out.

He went through Peebles today. Lots of people cheering him on. One young mum ran out with some rolls she’d made up for him. I hope the weather stays nice for him.

Steve Gough is a pioneer, both for human rights and modern art too. Think about it! We are all fascinated by the naked body as an art form in the context of a studio. Well now we have that art form on the street. Steve IS living art!

Good on him, he is a very strong and strong minded man who fervently believes on the shamelessness of the body. And so do I
