The speed camera stills showing Mr Huhne travelling 69 mph in a 50 mph zone have been released by the Crown Prosecution service.

The snaps show Mr Huhne’s BMW bearing his personalised plate H11 HNE on the M11 2003.

On Monday Mr Huhne pleaded guilty to the charge that he had allowed his wife to take his points on his behalf .

Last year Mr Huhne supported a campaign for lower speed limits on Alan Drayton way

    Never thought we’d see those. Well done Stephen.

    I do have a bit of sympathy for whoever was driving H11 HNE here, as it was late at night on a Motorway and bet there was no bugger to be seen in any roadworks…

    What we really need, particularly in situations like this, are more variable speed limits…

    But the laws the law I suppose, and if you are an MP…

    As for the Poll, my answer would be “None of the Above”…

      Actually, a lot of work on motorways is carried out at night to (hopefully) cause less disruption to traffic flows. It’s dangerous to assume that there is no one there working on repairing the road. Hitting someone at 69mph is probably going to kill them, at 50mph or less they may survive – hence the speed limit.
