The battle for the bin…

With another forest of campaign “newspapers” dropping through letterboxes in Eastleigh this weekend, the fears of the main contenders are apparent…

In a campaign leaflet that calls itself “The Parishes Voice”, the Lib Dems mysteriously use the colour blue on the masthead, a colour that is traditionally used by the Conservatives…

Meanwhile, in a campaign leaflet that calls itself “Eastleigh on Sunday”, the Conservatives mysteriously use the colour purple, a colour that is traditionally used by UKIP and also, co-incidentally, by the independent candidate…

The Conservative leaflet also resembles a section from a Sunday newspaper, a trick which is not lost on the Lib Dems who are dropping a glossy publication entitled “The magazine” through letterboxes.

From the fudging of the colours that are traditionally used by the main parties, and the design of these campaign leaflets, there is clearly a battle going on this weekend with the two main contenders trying to cross boundaries and reach opposition supporters and sympathisers.

It is also clear who the Lib Dems and Conservatives see as their main threats…

Meanwhile, back in Eastleigh, there have been signs of some residents frustration with all of the campaign material…

Yeah cos people believe the newspapers don’t they ? such good manipulation of the people ,you hadn’t even heard of Cllr Thornton 15 days ago and now hes like an old family friend eh Eastleigh . they have created a persona right in front of our eyes , the magic of mind control , do they have derrin brown back at lib dem high command that picture on the magazine is the best he’s actually got a barbour jacket on !! he must like the countryside.

I feel like I know Mike really well now, he spends his spare time keeping council tax down and protecting green spaces (inbetween massive housing developments) he is actually protecting that field in the picture from the cameraman, it is slick …. an oil slick on our minds… we are being mindraped eastleigh.
not with policies , that would be debate or politics perhaps we are being mindraped with personality advertising , we are doomed , there are crises everywhere, the barbarians are at the gate and all we get is marketing experts selling us an ideal. The brand new toyota th0rnt0n with low brain emissions and extra green spaces. They could have actually created the entity known as m1ke Th0rnt0n in the laboratory a fortnight ago , then created the backstory and now for the hard bit.. get him elected just like we did the last zombie

With the cold weather I am still having open fires and a lot of this stuff is on good quality paper , , none are printed in eastleigh nothing is recycled apart from the rhetoric, I can’t burn all the lib dem ones though as some will be required at the tribunal as evidence of their lies .
