Wessex Regionalists bring campaign to town

Colin Bex the leader of fringe party Wessex Regionalists – one of fourteen parties standing in the by-election- was in town to drum up support yesterday.

The party believe that the ancient kingdom of Wessex – of which Hampshire was once part- should be given the right to govern itself.

I have often thought that if we ever get devolution for England, it would be good to resurrect the anglo saxon kingdom names. I expect the bureaucrats would go with boring old south east, north west, midlands etc.

You’ve also got to admire a man with no phone in an age where people get separation anxiety if they leave their phone in a different room.
