Nick Tustian – Eastleigh Council’s new boss

Nick Tustian has been announced as the new Chief Executive of  Eastleigh Borough Council.

Nick Tustian is currently the Council’s Corporate Director, a role he has had since 2004 after joining the Council in 2000 as Head of Finance and will be replacing Bernie Topham who is leaving for a new role at Portsmouth University.

Nick has worked in local government since 1974, when he joined Cherwell District Council. He subsequently worked at High Wycombe and then Jersey before joining Southampton City Council in 1990.

Council Leader Keith House said in a statement:

“We are delighted to have someone of Nick’s talent and experience as our new Chief Executive. Nick shares our passion to keep getting better, to focus on results, and not to be afraid of doing things differently.”

Nick Tustian said:

“I’m delighted to be offered this opportunity. This is an exciting and challenging time for Eastleigh with the ongoing town centre regeneration, our continuing work to tackle climate change agenda and at the same time, ensuring the area’s residents continue to receive the improving services they rightfully expect. I am looking forward to working with the Council and the community in shaping the future of the Borough.”

The Council meets on 31 October to confirm Nick’s appointment.
