Richard Hill’s Spitfires take on mid-table side Concord Rangers today at The Silverlake Stadium in what will be their sixth home in row in all competitions.

Eastleigh last put out a youthful side against Whitchurch United on Tuesday where they got knocked out of the Hampshire Senior cup second round 0-1 due to a first half Curtis Angell goal.

The Spitfires however did have success in the FA Cup last Saturday as Richard Hill’s men comfortably went through to the next round against Mangotsfield United.

Will Evans made his competitive debut after getting injured in pre-season, the former Swindon midfielder played right back and played a vital role in Eastleigh’s first goal.

Evans put in a dangerous ball in the box which Stuart Fleetwood brought down for Jai Reason to slot away past the visitor’s keeper.

Moments later and The Spitfires had a two goal advantage when a superb play of passing found captain Glen Southam who finished off a great Eastleigh move.

Stuart Fleetwood made it 3-0 before the break when a quick free kick was taken and the former Luton Town striker turned and finished accurately to Hill’s a much deserved lead at the break.

The Magos  got a man sent of during the celebrations of the goal when Jamie Reid disagreed with the decision of the free kick and got a second yellow.

The Spitfires managed to get one more in the second half when substitute Sam Wilson got on the end of Ben Strevens through ball and the striker made no mistake with a cool finish.

Hill’s men made sure of a place in the next round where they will be play Oxford City in third qualifying round at home.

Today’s visitors newly promoted Concord Rangers were also in FA Cup action last weekend as Danny Cowley’s men were at home to St Ives Town.

The Beachboys had to work hard for their victory in a seven goal thriller.

Nick Cowley bagged a brace for the home side; Sam Higgins and Gary Ogilvie also got on the score sheet which ensured Concord Rangers a place in the hat in the next round.

In other news Richard Hill claimed September manager of the month having won all five of his matches in league and cup.

Today’s game is going to be a great game so come on down to The Silverlake Stadium and roar them on to a sixth straight win in the league.
