Arty Fair Oak folk have staged their annual arts and crafts exhibition over the weekend.

The members of Fair Oak Arts and Crafts Society exhibited a variety of items in differing media that show that creativity is thriving in the village.

The society was founded 32 years ago and currently has around 30 members but is keen to welcome newcomers with any level of expertise – including complete beginners

Meeting at the village hall every Wednesday evening (except the last Wednesday of the month), the evenings alternate between demonstrations by professionals, workshops and training sessions.

Remote exhibitions are sometimes staged– one quite recently at the Eastpoint Centre in Southampton – which provide an opportunity for local artists to show off their skills and sell pieces to the public.

The society also presents its own awards to members and on Saturday a prize for the best craft table was presented by the Society’s president Ann Humphreys to Nicky Baker for her display of jewellery and decorated canvases.
