Spitfires look to close in on top spot

Craig McAllister got Eastleigh’s only goal last Saturday

Richard Hill’s Spitfires will look to close in on first place again as they now trail four points behind first place Bromley with a game in hand.

Bromley however are not playing today so this would be a good opportunity for Eastleigh to shorten the gap as they play Farnborough today at The Silverlake Stadium (3pm kick off).

Hill’s men last played away to Sutton United where they managed to get a point against a team who had ten men for the majority of the game.

It didn’t take long for Eastleigh to capitalise on the extra man as left back Michael Green made a powerful run down the left win and sent a shot towards goal however it needed the final touch of Craig McAllister to make sure it went in.

The hosts got one back with a penalty in the second half which Craig Dundas scored and the match ended 1-1.

Today’s opponents Farnborough sit mid-table with 20 points and last played Maidenhead United away on Tuesday.

Former Queen’s Park Rangers midfielder Scott Donnelly and Harry Lee on loan from Leyton Orient both netted for Spencer Day’s men to secure a point.

Today’s game is going to be a great game so come on down to The Silverlake Stadium and roar on those Spitfires!

COME ON YOU SPITFIRES!!!
