Two arrested in Eastleigh drugs raids

Blue Police Lamp

Police have arrested two men and recovered a quantity of suspected class ‘A’ and ‘B’ drugs after carrying out seven drugs raids in the Eastleigh area and another in West End this morning.

The raids were part of a crackdown on drug dealers in the Eastleigh area and were run in conjunction with the Operation Fortress team.

A 31-year-old man was arrested at an address in Duddon Close, West End and a 23-year-old man was arrested at an address in Jackdaw Rise, Eastleigh. A quantity of what’s believed to be cannabis was recovered from the address. Some more was found at an address in Alexander Square, Boyatt Wood where another raid took place. An amount of suspected class ’A’ drugs was also recovered from an address in Southampton Road, Eastleigh.

Superintendent Ben Snuggs said:

“There were two main purposes for today’s raids.

“One is to send a clear message to people supplying drugs in the area that we know who they are, and will take all available steps to prevent their operation.

“The other is to reassure the public that we will continue to act on information they give us.

“Today’s raids wouldn’t have been possible without that help and I’d encourage anyone who knows about any illegal drug dealing to let us know as soon as possible.

“We will use this information to plan more days of action and continue to make the wider Eastleigh area a safer place to live and work.”

“We are working closely with the Operation Fortress team and I would ask that anyone with information about drug dealing calls us in confidence on 101 or phones the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 anonymously

Other raids were conducted at Botley Road, Horton Heath, Grantham Road,Leigh Road and Market Street in Eastleigh

Twat police officers who arrest as many cannabis dealers as they can have now dryed the area up effectively causing ‘stoners’ to resort to drinking in the pubs taking more class a drugs getting drunk and causing mayhem……yea, well done! Most cannabis users like myself are self medicating a problem so all this in-house back slapping is to make theirselves proud of each other and causing more problems for the general public.

Plenty of the top police officers who have called for legalisation might agree with some of your sentiments, yesterday a retired New Zealand policeman said:

“In my 35 years of Law Enforcement I never saw cannabis do any significant harm to the community, especially compared to alcohol”

But the police have a duty to enforce the law as it stands, isn’t better to target dealers rather than hassle users?

I was pleased to see the back of the druggies / drug-dealers who formerly lived next to me. They were a real nuisance…
