Monks Brook out of it banks at Fleming Park

Monks Brook has burst it’s banks and inundated Fleming Park as continuing rain keeps Eastleigh on Flood alert.

Eastleigh Police have warned drivers to avoid driving tonight (Friday 14 February) due to large  number of fallen trees brought down by strong  winds.

The latest Environment Agency warning is as follows:

Water levels in the River Itchen are high and rising slowly in response to significant rainfall in the last 12 hours. The river is out of bank in many places between Shawford and Brambridge,and Bishopstoke and Stoke Lock. The Met Office forecast is for blustery showers overnight and into Saturday, giving a further 5-10mm of rain, with the same on Monday. Water levels will remain high for the next few weeks. This Flood Warning will be updated on Saturday 15th February 2014 at 21:00
