Champions to bow out at home

Eastleigh vs Boreham Wood
Richard Hill’s Spitfires will be looking to finish the season with a win after a narrow defeat away to Hampshire rivals Havant & Waterlooville.

Nic Ciardini scored the only goal of the game on bank holiday Monday as Eastleigh went down to a 1-0 defeat.

The midfielder netted a free kick after ten minutes that went past the youthful keeper, Lewis Noice.

Eastleigh will play their final game of the season home at the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick off) where they will be playing mid-table side Boreham Wood.

Nicknamed simply as the Wood, Ian Allinson’s men currently sit in the bottom of half of the table in 14th place having achieved 50 points this season.

Boreham Wood have won seven on the road this season and have only claimed five points in their last five away games.

Eastleigh’s home record however has been impressive to say the least this season having won 17 out of their 20 home league games.

Both teams met back in August at the Meadow Stadium where the Spitfires were victorious on that occasion.

Craig McAllister, Stuart Fleetwood and Jai Reason all netted for Eastleigh on that day in a convincing 3-0 away victory.

The Hertfordshire side includes the likes of former Spitfire Graeme Montgomery and Matthew Whichelow who has recently played at Championship level for Watford.

This match will be a great game to celebrate the success of an unforgettable season for Eastleigh and the celebrations won’t stop after the game.

The clubhouse will be holding a end of season celebration party following the match on Saturday.

There will be a DJ on the night as well as hot food available for £4 and fans will get a chance to get their photo taken with the Skrill South trophy.

Staff and players will be there throughout the evening on a night that is sure to be great for fans and everyone involved within the club.
