Peace Party calls for “fully integrated Europe”

Peace Party UK

The Guildford based Peace Party (UK) has launched its European Election Manifesto calling for a “a fully integrated Europe without borders”.

The Union is the best chance we have of creating jobs, sharing the resources of our corner of the world, regulating free-market capitalism, encouraging co-operative ownership, having the best, publically-owned health care and creating a more equal society.

The party believes in the promotion of ‘non-violence, justice and the environment’ and is opposed to the militarization of Europe.

“The European Union is a peace movement, not a war movement”.

Other policies include joining the single currency and the implementation of the Schengen agreement right across Europe, to allow free movement of people across all member states.

The Peace Party says the UK is “better in than out” and believes mass migration is related to economic imbalances and is caused by the failure of governments to train enough people to work in areas of need (skills gap) and to pay them a living wage.

The party, which currently has one councillor on Bradford City Council, is standing a full slate of ten candidates in the South East region including Jim Duggan who previously contested the Eastleigh by-election in February 2013 when he beat both the English Democrats and the TUSC socialist candidate.
