Local firms active in aviation, marine and engineering are in line for free mentoring and coaching under a dedicated package of help from WSX Enterprise thanks to a new government backed scheme.
The Fareham-based, not-for-profit support organisation has been appointed to deliver a government-funded programme in the South East called Air, Land and Sea.
It enables companies to receive up to 20 hours of free one-to-one help and advice over the coming 12 months from a skilled and experienced mentor.
Peter Grant, WSX Enterprise Chief Executive, said:
“The aim is to assist up and coming businesses in the supply chain of these specialist, high-growth sectors of our regional economy. The input of a mentor is designed to help management teams achieve their business goals. It is a powerful boost from an expert with relevant industry experience.”
The first 50 companies who sign up will be eligible to receive additional funding for leadership and management training.
Air, Land and Sea is funded by BIS, the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills.
WSX Enterprise secured the work along with bid partners Marine South East, the business-led support organisation for the marine sector, and the Farnborough Aerospace Consortium.
Mentors for the initiative are sourced through WSX Enterprise’s Mentor-Net programme, aimed at providing support for small businesses across the South.
The service is confidential and the mentors are all volunteers keen to share their specialist business knowledge and skills.
