Eastleigh take on Aldershot Town tomorrow night at the Silverlake Stadium (7.45pm kick off) as the Spitfires host top-flight non league football for the first time in their history.
Richard Hill’s men got off to a perfect start to their campaign on Saturday as the Spitfires eased to a 3-0 victory in their first ever game in the Vanarama Conference away to Nuneaton Town.
Jai Reason netted for Eastleigh after 19 minutes that sent his side into the break with a one goal advantage.
Further goals from Craig Stanley and Ben Strevens ensured Hill’s men got off to a dream start to life in the Vanarama Conference.
Their opponents tomorrow night, Aldershot Town, are managed by former Oxford United player Andy Scott.
Scott will be a familiar face to Eastleigh chairman Stewart Donald who had a season ticket at Oxford United for several years.
Nicknamed, the Shots, the Hampshire outfit got off to a similar to start to the Spitfires on Saturday as they won their opening game of the season at home to Altrincham 3-1.
Goals from Jordan Roberts, Josh Scott and former Spitfire Brett Williams saw Aldershot claim all three points in their curtain raiser.
Williams, who first joined Eastleigh’s youth set up in 2004, went on to play in a number of first team fixtures up until 2011 when the in form striker was sold to Reading for £50,000.
Since then the striker has been on loan to Rotherham United, Northampton Town and Welling United before signing for Aldershot at the beginning of last season – scoring 25 league goals.
Eastleigh have also got a former Aldershot player in their side as Stanley played alongside Williams last season where he was captain at the club for two years.
If you cannot make the game tomorrow night then BT Sport 1 will be broadcasting the match live from 7.30pm.
