Children from Fair Oak Junior School, who ran in the B&Q 2k Fun Run, present a cheque for £1,000 to Gloria Hill charity manager at Wave 105’s Cash for Kids.
The money was raised by the children that took part in the event, as well as the race organisers, and was then split between three chosen charities.
More than 600 children ran in the 2k Fun Run which followed the annual B&Q sponsored 10k race for adults.
Race director, Steve Collins, said:
“We were delighted to support Wave 105 Cash for Kids and are thrilled that such a fantastic amount was raised through this year’s Fun Run. Everyone paid to take part, and additional donations were also given on the day, so we were overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity. We look forward to working with Cash for Kids in 2015.”
Gloria Hill, Wave 105 Cash for Kids charity manager, added:
“As always huge thanks goes out to everyone that helped to raise this wonderful amount for Cash for Kids. There are many disadvantaged children in the area that these funds will benefit. We look forward to working with Steve and his team again in the future.”
