Local arrests after £11 million drugs haul

Four people from Eastleigh were among a group of 13 local persons arrested for offences involving the supply of millions of pounds worth of drugs.

On Monday (November 3) the Police raided 12 houses which led to a man from Toynbee Rd and a man from Shamblehurst Lane South being arrested and charged for the supply of Class A as part of Hampshire Constabualry’s ‘Operation Cowling’.

A woman from Hedge End and a woman for Eastleigh were also arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of Class A drugs but were released on bail.

Drugs, including 42 kilos of cocaine, were seized with a total street value of 11 million pounds.

Around £200,000 worth of cash was also discovered.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Dennis, said:

”This is an important step towards disrupting the activities of organised crime groups.

“We will not tolerate drugs in our county and will continue to make Hampshire a hostile environment for drug dealers.”

    Well done!

    It’s easy and fashionable in some quarters to knock the coppers, but here is just one example of good work in protecting our kids from evil people.

    Many weeks and months of background investigation must have preceded this operation.
