Police seek man after Waitrose bag snatch

Police are publishing a CCTV image of a man who may have information about a theft from a supermarket in Chandlers Ford.

At approximately 1.15pm on Thursday, November 20, 2014, a 65-year-old woman was shopping in the Waitrose supermarket on Oakmount Road.

She had her handbag placed in her shopping trolley.

After the woman had been away from her trolley for a few seconds while weighing some apples, she discovered that her handbag had been stolen.

Police are keen to hear from anybody who can identify the man pictured in this CCTV image – or who recognises a vehicle that appears to be an old style Renault Twingo with a very distinctive split sunroof.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Paul Osborne at Eastleigh police station by phoning 101 or emailing via http://www.hampshire.police.uk/internet/do-it-online/online-forms/message-for-officer.html
