Eastleigh rescued a point on Tuesday night away to Altrincham after a last ditched effort from Yemi Odubade.

The Spitfires avoided a third successive defeat as the injury stricken side showed guts to come away from Moss Lane with a point in front of a crowd of 677.

Altrincham opened the scoring just before the half hour mark when Jamie Lawrie scored a long distance shot into the top corner that gave young Eastleigh keeper Lewis Noice, who filled in for the injured Michael Poke and Ross Flitney, no chance.

Eastleigh’s top scorer James Constable had chances to level however it took it until the 87th minute for Richard Hill’s men to equalise with Odubade scoring a sweet volley from outside the box that is surely already in contention of the club’s goal of the season.

That result put the Spitfires in sixth place in the Vanarama National League with Woking defeating league leaders Forest Green Rovers for the first time this season.

Eastleigh will look to get back to winning ways this weekend as they take on below mid-table side Chester away at the Deva Stadium.

The Supporters owned Cheshire side were formed just six season ago after Chester City folded back in 2010 and since have achieved an impressive three promotions returning to the top flight of non-league football last season alongside Eastleigh.

Manager Steve Burr has had a below average start to this season with just three wins all season and his side currently sit in 15th place, five points below Eastleigh.

The last fixture between the two side was at the Deva Stadium and it was Eastleigh who completed the double over the Cheshire side back in February with a 1-0 away win in front of an impressive 2,294 fans.

On loan midfielder Dan Walker, who currently plays for Aldershot Town, sealed all three points for Eastleigh as a second half substitute.

There is still plenty of spaces left on the supporters coach for this fixture with prices starting from £18 with supporters club membership and £23 for non members – under 16’s travel half price with a paying adult.

Departure times will be 7.00 am from the Ground and 7.15am from Station Hill – to book a place on the coach call Dan Barnes on 07540304520.
