Waitrose in Chandler’s Ford have held a collection at their store in aid of the RNLI as part of their chosen charity of the year campaign.

The amount collected was £733.01 which added to the money raised during their sponsored rowing event in the Summer, means the Chandler’s Ford branch has contributed £1,183.13 to help save lives.

Chris Green, the RNLI Romsey & District Branch Chairman said:

“We value Waitrose’s support immensely. The amount collected is tremendous and I would like to thank all the staff and their many customers who have donated in support.

The Lifeboats rely entirely upon the generosity of the public. The RNLI is busier than ever and, particularly at the moment, has been helping people badly affected by the flooding in Cumbria and the North West.”
